Miao - Ink

Inspired by antique textiles, Miao is woven in a traditional Persian knot texture, with a high knot count.  The pattern in the background is composed of 100% wool, sheared to a zero-pile height through a process of oxidation.  Lines of raised silk add sheen and contrast to the coarser hand and traditional design of the background.
